Please help lol I'm having this same issue but only on a ps5 controller ps4 works fine. I suspect something in the registry or deep windows settings or some other issue that is far beyond my skills to find/fix. Switching to a keyboard style game I haven't used in a decade will require quite a bit of time to adjust to so I'd prefer to fix this problem instead. I haven't even participated in any content because I don't feel confident I can play to a decent ability level.

Ive basically run into a brick wall and I don't know what to do other than play with the Keyboard (which I suck at because of a PS2 > Xbox 360 > PC with controller FFXI career) If worse comes to worse I'll relearn how to use the keyboard but I'm rusty enough as is trying to remember how to play my jobs in general. Now to me, it seems the issue is Windows > FFXI communication. Uninstalled FFXI from steam and reinstalled normally bypassing steamĪttempted every method I could find on google for people with the same issues XInput off/on within config with every controller (even though I know Xbox are XI) both with every combination of XI/DI off/on for every controller with every preset possible (Used test gamepad to see if any button presses were detected)Ĭonfigured and calibrated all controllers with various apps (DS4, Advanced settings under the devices manager, Steam, etc)

Uninstall/Reinstall every associated Driver The only thing I get is a vibration when I do the vibration test in FFXI Config. But at the same time I CANNOT get FFXI Config to register ANYTHING. The wireless ones could be used wirelessly and worked fine when tested with Windows.

Since then I've battled this controller issue and ran it through top to bottom.īasically the issue is I can get any controller (PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One) to work/detect in Windows 10 and function normally using either DS4 or Xbox Accessories. One of these times the game just decided it didn't want to detect my controller. I alternated controllers because I'd have the PS4 active with youtube or streaming and would swap them out when one needed to be charged. When configuring the pad ingame first set the Right Analog.įor some reason if you set the Left first, the X axis gets flipped. So I recently came back and was using my PS4 controller with DS4 and everything was fine for a while. Like i said before, its not perfect.įor some reason the Plus button and shoulder and trigger buttons in the Right Joycon dont work.

Nothing in the way and PSO sees my joycons as one controller and is all fine. Open vJoy Monitor to make sure the controller is working. But hey, we only messed with the second vJoy. You can usually find these ports on the front or back of your computer tower, on the back of your monitor (if you're using an all-in-one), and along the sides of laptops. Using a USB to Micro-USB cable, connect your controller to a USB port on your computer. It'll say that it can no longer feed the vJoy 1, and that you need to set it up again and press enter. Connect your PS4 controller to your computer. Then take a look at the joycon driver cmd prompt. Why dont i simply remove it?Īnd guess what, it works! The procedure is simple: after setting all up and get your joy cons as one controller (using the joycon driver with vJoy) open vJoy Config and remove the 16 button vJoy Device. Its only messing the ordering of the controllers. My next step was then to try and rename one of the vJoy Devicesīy messing with Registry. Have the same name, the same problem persist. But thats obvious, since both vJoy controllers For some reason, today the vJoy Device order changed and PSO is picking the Then i saw your post andĪt least the problem made sense. I spent hours trying to fix it, doing all kinds of things. Yesterday they were working fine (not perfect tho, more later) but todayįor some reason they were not working. Thanks, your reply helped me solve my problem. somebody recommended devreorder in another post: PSOBB by default detects the controller in position slot one first, so if you adjust the settings using a utility you can make your actual controller of use be detected first. not sure if this issue is fixable, but the solution is unplugged extra controllers, deactivate vJoy, or there's some hint that a third party application can adjust the position of controllers.

anyway by installing vJoy, it installed a controller which PSOBB was detecting and trying to use and when I inserted my Xbox/Stream/PS4 controller it was detected as a second controller which PSOBB can detect but only detects X and A when pressed.

I experimented with getting a Jo圜on controller working for PSOBB/other games, and to do that you have to install a driver called vJoy and install a home brewed Jo圜on controller driver (to get the two switch Jo圜ons to recognize as one controller in Windows).

The issue is likely due to fact that you have two or more controllers connected to your computer, or a driver is installed that creates a virtual controller such as vJoy. Alright for people experiencing the issue where only X and A buttons work on their controllers whether Steam, Xbox, PS4, or other:
